SSP 23: 5 Ways to Help Reluctant Readers Learn to Love Reading
What if your child is just not into reading? How can you help them develop a love of reading?
1. Get books on topics that your kids are interested in and find their currency. What is important enough to make them want to read?
2.Read aloud to kids long after they can read by themselves.
3. Focus on picture books and graphic novels.
4. Make it fun and use humor.
5. If not reading by age 7, get evaluated by a reading expert to find out if something is standing in the way of progress.
